Position Summary: The Buyer will work to support the supply chain, by sourcing and negotiating agreements with suppliers, placing purchase orders and managing deliveries. The position is critical in the supply chain for managing Cost of Goods Sold, On-Time Delivery to our customers, and balanced inventory.

Essential Functions Of The Job

The Buyer will be responsible for delivering results that include the following:

• Supports sourcing strategies, negotiations and documenting of contracts and agreements
• Performs continuous review and analysis of demand and supply
• Managing release of work to suppliers in the form of Purchase Orders to maintain inventory balance
• Communicates performance expectations and metrics to evaluate and monitor supplier performance
• Manages suppliers who are not performing
  
  

Position Qualification Requirements

• More than 1 year of experience working directly with suppliers or supplier management
• More than 1 year of experience managing projects and project metrics
• More than 1 year of experience writing, drafting or editing contract documents
• Basic understanding of financial nomenclature and business decision making
• Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred)
• Experience analyzing data and making decisions (preferred)
• Strong understanding of business nomenclature (preferred)
