Overview:
Sunlarus Energy is seeking a versatile, technically-minded Solar Project Manager to lead residential and commercial projects from contract execution through final utility commissioning. In this high-impact role, you will act as the central hub for technical design, financial oversight, and administrative coordination. As we scale, you will be instrumental in building the systems and workflows that will eventually define our dedicated design and permitting departments. You will work closely with a lead installer.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Design & Engineering
- System Layouts: Utilize design software to develop preliminary and final solar layouts.
- Engineering Coordination: Partner with external engineers to produce and review stamped Plan Sets for AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) submission.
- Optimization: Ensure all designs maximize energy production while maintaining strict compliance with local building codes, NEC standards, and fire setbacks.
2. Permitting & Utility Interconnection
- Pipeline Management: Coordinate with Electrical Contractor on the submission and tracking of all permits.
- Net Metering: Manage the complete Interconnection Application process with local Florida utilities (e.g., OUC, Duke Energy).
- Compliance Tracking: Maintain a real-time database of project statuses to ensure no project stalls in the administrative phase.
3. Financial Management & Job Costing
- Pre-Construction Analysis: Set and verify initial sales costs to ensure projects are technically feasible and priced for profitability.
- Full-Cycle Costing: Track all project expenditures, including specialized equipment procurement, labor hours, and permitting fees.
- Variance Reporting: Analyze budget discrepancies to help the sales team refine future estimates and protect company margins.
4. Scheduling, Logistics & Process Growth
- Master Scheduling: Own the master project calendar to ensure installation crews are deployed efficiently.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Work with the warehouse team to ensure panels, inverters, and racking systems are staged and ready for every build.
- Scalability: As the business grows, help document and streamline these "bridge" responsibilities into standardized operating procedures (SOPs).
