Job Summary
The Tipton Bakery is looking for a punctual, careful, and friendly Delivery Driver to transport our freshly baked goods, including our world-famous Tipton Bakery Crescents, to local retail outlets, partners, and community clients. As the face of our bakery on the road, you will ensure that our products arrive safely, fresh, and on schedule while maintaining excellent relationships with our wholesale partners and local customers.
Core Responsibilities
- Product Loading & Transport: Carefully load, organize, and secure fragile baked goods, pastries, and bread into the delivery vehicle to prevent damage during transit.
- Timely Deliveries: Follow assigned local routes and schedules to ensure fresh products are dropped off promptly during peak morning hours.
- Order Verification: Review invoices and purchase requests against loaded items before departure and upon delivery to guarantee 100% order accuracy.
- Customer Service: Act as a brand ambassador by greeting wholesale clients and customers warmly, handling delivery confirmation signatures, and addressing questions professionally.
- Vehicle Maintenance & Safety: Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety checks (fluids, tire pressure, cleanliness), report maintenance needs, and strictly adhere to all local traffic laws.
- Bakery Support: Assist the bakery team with basic packaging, organizing the loading zone, and managing empty delivery crates upon return.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensing: Must possess a valid, clean driver's license with a spotless driving record (no major violations).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, push, and carry delivery trays or boxes weighing up to 50 lbs, and comfortably stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and navigation skills to handle morning deadlines and safely navigate changing road conditions.
- Professionalism: High level of reliability, punctuality, and excellent communication skills.
- Experience: Previous delivery driving or professional driving experience is preferred but not required.
