Special Education Teacher - Windsor, Connecticut

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary-age students in a social-emotional behavioral classroom. This contract opportunity, beginning as soon as possible and extending through mid-October of next school year, places you in a welcoming environment where you’ll help shape positive outcomes for students in grades 3-5.

Your day-to-day will be centered on providing tailored instruction and behavioral supports to a small group of students, fostering both academic growth and emotional development. You’ll spend each day at a single school site, cultivating meaningful connections within a close-knit team from 8:20 am to 3:40 pm.

Qualifications & Experience Needed:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education (SPED) license
• Previous experience with social-emotional behavioral classrooms preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for collaborative, student-centered learning
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment

Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering individualized and small-group instruction to students in grades 3-5
• Implementing behavioral interventions and positive support strategies
• Tracking progress and maintaining accurate documentation
• Collaborating with fellow educators, therapists, and families to coordinate services
• Creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning atmosphere
• Participating in IEP development, meetings, and compliance
