What you’ll need to excel in this role:
- Active Michigan School Social Worker (SSW) license
- Previous experience working in a school environment (preferred)
- Deep understanding of social-emotional and behavioral issues impacting students from kindergarten through high school
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to develop and implement individualized support plans for a diverse student population
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and social work services to students, individually and in groups
- Conduct assessments and participate in IEP or 504 planning
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address behavioral or mental health concerns
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and community referrals
- Support student success through prevention and intervention strategies
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all compliance requirements are met
