Position: IT Coordinator
Location: Dorchester, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Type: Contract
This role focuses on managing and supporting all technology systems within a school environment, enhancing technology integration for both staff and students. The IT Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining the operation of school technology, advocating for effective utilization, and supporting distance learning initiatives. Handling technology infrastructure, software evaluation, inventory management, and vendor relations will be essential day-to-day tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and maintain school technology systems operation and infrastructure
- Advocate technology awareness and integration within the school community
- Support distance learning programs and technology-driven instructional strategies
- Coordinate, evaluate, and recommend technology software purchases and replacements
- Maintain inventory of computers, technology supplies, and peripherals for staff and students
- Plan and oversee technology maintenance schedules and repairs
- Provide staff development and training on technology use and integration
- Assist teachers with hardware and software issues and optimize instructional technology use
- Manage vendor relationships related to maintenance, upgrades, and development
- Stay current with emerging technologies by attending relevant conferences and professional associations
- Support building office automation and disseminate information on new technology to faculty and students
- Troubleshoot technical issues such as rebooting projectors and managing devices
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills and Tools:
- Experience with Google Admin Console, Clever, Renaissance (Star360), Kickboard, and Reflex
- Knowledge of Chromebook management and lamination equipment operations
- Strong troubleshooting and hardware/software repair skills
- Background in general education and bilingual environments preferred
- Data entry and IT professional experience desirable
