This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art control center, where you will play a critical part in monitoring and optimizing renewable energy plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control renewable energy plant operations using SCADA systems
- Ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant performance
- Respond quickly to changing system conditions to minimize downtime and maximize output
- Track and interpret data including weather patterns, equipment performance, and system alerts
- Adjust control systems to maintain optimal operating ranges
- Maintain accurate logs of operational activities and incidents
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements
- Coordinate with internal teams and external operators to address system needs
- Ensure compliance with all operational procedures and regulatory standards
- Participate in troubleshooting and support maintenance activities as needed
Work Environment
- 24/7 control center operations
- Rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Extended hours and overtime may be required
Training
- Up to 5 weeks of paid, mandatory training in Albert Lea, Minnesota
- Travel and accommodation expenses fully covered
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience working with computers or industrial systems
- Background in power plant operations is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems, including MS Office and SCADA platforms
- Understanding of power plant operations and NERC standards is preferred
- Ability to obtain NERC certification (career advancement opportunity)
- Technical or engineering degree preferred (2–4 years)
- Military or maritime experience is advantageous
- Experience in 24/7 operational environments preferred
