What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sun Valley Lodge Concierge position at Sun Valley Resort?
A Sun Valley Concierge is an ambassador for the Sun Valley Resort and is expected to provide exceptional guest experiences as the Concierge at the iconic Sun Valley Lodge. You will relay relevant information, and recommendations will be given to our guests courteously, in a friendly manner, and helpfully. The Concierge works closely with restaurants on our property and in Ketchum. The Concierge works as a team with all Resort departments to ensure our guests can look forward to their stay and be assisted during their stay. We are looking for an outgoing person willing to help all guests.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as an informational resource
- Direct and assure that the guest services activities of the main lobby desk are handled promptly, efficiently, and professionally
- Perform desk duties and all guest services, problem resolution and appropriate special gift requests
- Work closely and cooperatively with front desk personnel and food managers relative to special guest services, problem resolution and appropriate assignment of cost or billing
- Accommodate special cakes, bands, flower baskets, and baggage recovery requests
- Communicate current knowledge of ongoing resort events, especially groups, events, packages, and rates. Knowledge of various restaurants and menu fare
- Develop a well-versed knowledge of all resort facilities and departments and contact individuals
- Delegate, circulate and /or respond to daily mail or other notices and correspondence as necessary
- Provide support and assistance when necessary during large events, including Ice shows, buffets, or others, as required or directed
Qualifications:
- 3 years or equivalent in customer service industry (preferably in a hotel environment)
- 1 years or equivalent as a hotel concierge or guest services representative
- An intimate knowledge of Sun Valley and surrounding areas regarding sights, activities, restaurants and venues
- Knowledge of computers, internet, and software applications including MS office
- Skilled in building relationships with guests and staff. Excellent guest recovery skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility to work evening shifts, weekends and holidays
- Team player with a desire to support both guests and members of the hotel staff
- Grounded in ethical principles and dedicated to the overall guest experience.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, professional email adhering to high standards of etiquette and brand voice
- Experience managing guest inquiries and requests via email, demonstrating tact, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in adapting communication style to diverse guest needs while maintaining consistent quality and tone
- Strong attention to detail in written correspondence, including proper grammar, spelling, and formatting
- Familiarity with email management systems and ability to prioritize and respond to guest communications in a timely manner
- Assist bell staff when needed with monitoring desk activity and assisting guests with luggage
- Have the ability to give and explain directions in a clear and concise manner
- Be able to stand for prolonged periods
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear
- Be able to move objects up to approximately 25 pounds about the workplace, always ensuring safety
