Fitter/Welder | $26–$28/hr
We're hiring a skilled Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling and preparing structural members with precision. From reading detailed prints to fitting beams and columns, you'll play a vital part in producing high-quality steel assemblies.
Fitter/Welder Job Duties:
- Interpret drawings, sectional views, and weld symbols to complete fabrication tasks
- Fit, align, and prepare beams, columns, and other steel components for welding and assembly
- Perform coping, beveling, and cutting to meet project specifications
- Use fabrication tools, layout equipment, and measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- Work closely with welders and shop supervisors to complete projects on schedule
- Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean and organized
Fitter/Welder Qualifications:
- Previous experience in structural steel fitting or related fabrication work
- Ability to confidently read and apply blueprints, weld symbols, and sectional drawings
- Hands-on knowledge of coping, beveling, and beam/column fit-up
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or with a team
- Physically able to handle material and perform tasks in a shop environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- $26–$28/hr starting pay, based on experience
