SUMMARY
Plays a key role in supporting the Merchandising Department by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and optimization of product data across both digital and print channels. This role supports Category Leads by managing product setup and maintenance, assisting with vendor data and media processing, and identifying and resolving data or content issues that impact the customer experience. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, Excel proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects with precision and urgency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as assigned):
- Product Setup and Maintenance Support. Play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of product data across the company’s assortment. Process new SKU submissions ensuring proper classification, descriptions, attributes, and digital asset assignments. Complete SKU Creation Templates, review vendor data files, and verify accuracy before products are published. Help manage SKU-level onboarding for new parts across branded lines.
- In addition to part setup, ensure that product content is clean, current, and aligned with both vendor expectations and customer-facing standards. Work closely with the Tech Data Management (TDM) team to resolve data inconsistencies, correct categorization or fitment issues, and maintain a high-quality user experience on the website. Assist Category Leads in rationalizing product assortments by flagging obsolete, duplicated, or incorrect SKUs for review and removal.
- Accurately log time, update statuses, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks in the shared JIRA ticket queue. Support broader team visibility and help prioritize departmental workload. Efficiently handle tickets and maintain thorough documentation.
- Vendor Data, Media Management, and Project Support. Review external vendor data sources (including ACES, PIES, and pricing files) and utilize internal tools to load and update product information. Map digital assets such as images, instruction sheets, and videos to SKUs and maintain alignment between what is displayed online and what the vendor provides. Identify and correct errors in website content and report those issues to the appropriate team.
- Support departmental initiatives and cross-functional projects as assigned, including tasks related to catalog prep, vehicle builds, marketing support, and special product promotions. Manage JIRA tickets and project tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Track SKU data accuracy through regular audits and contribute to reporting that supports category performance and presentation.
- SOP Development and Knowledge Sharing. Help develop and maintain internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key processes to improve consistency and efficiency. Write documentation and create instructional resources—such as screen-recorded video walkthroughs—to support onboarding and training efforts across the team. Codify tribal knowledge and streamline data workflows to support scalability and cross-training within the department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma required. 3-5 years automotive aftermarket work experience, or a minimum of motorsports knowledge gained through involvement with cars as an enthusiast or hobby highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
Previous work experience in merchandising, ecommerce, or a related data-entry or content management role preferred.
- This is a hybrid role. First week in office for training. After training: This role requires in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the option to work remotely the remaining three weekdays, subject to change based on business needs. Occasional in-office attendance on other weekdays may be necessary to accommodate in-person vendor meetings based on vendor and representative availability.
