Position Summary
The Route Supervisor Assistant / Warehouse Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and fully operational warehouse while actively supporting field operations, route supervision, client retention, team development, and job profitability.
This hybrid role ensures materials, equipment, consumables, and staff coordination are properly managed to support janitorial and utility teams across multiple sites. The position requires strong organizational skills, operational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to enforce company standards while maintaining positive client and team relationships.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Organization & Cleanliness
· Maintain a clean, organized warehouse with clearly labeled zones for supplies and equipment.
· Clean all warehouse floors, shelves, and work areas daily.
· Remove trash, replace liners, and maintain cleanliness in adjacent office spaces.
· Ensure breakrooms and restrooms are stocked and cleaned daily.
· Maintain a clean and organized Work Ticket (WT) staging area.
· Ensure no unauthorized cage access at the Summit warehouse.
2. Inventory & Stock Control
· Track supply usage and reorder products per company purchasing procedures.
· Maintain min/max stock levels for all consumables and equipment.
· Restock supplies daily/weekly using FIFO rotation.
· Manage and regularly update the inventory spreadsheet (serial numbers, locations, maintenance history).
· Use Sortly App to manage taxable supply inventory accurately.
· Track and control distribution of supplies and chemicals to supervisors and staff.
· Report all purchases to ServiceTeam@summitbs.com (include WT number when applicable).
3. Equipment Management
· Maintain equipment check‑out logs for all issued/returned items.
· Track and control distribution of supplies and chemicals to supervisors and staff.
· Check equipment in/out and inspect for damages.
· Store backup equipment in a secure, organized system.
· Tag and stage malfunctioning equipment for repair; perform minor repairs when applicable (cords, mop buckets, etc.).
· Maintain required spreadsheets for tracking equipment.
· Brand/label equipment as needed for asset identification.
· Ensure proper product mixture guidelines and dilution ratios are followed.
· Assist with minor field equipment troubleshooting as needed.
4. Laundry Operations
· Wash, dry, fold, and store towels, mops, bonnets, window rags, and stripping pads.
· Keep laundry room clean and organized.
· Refill chemical dispensers and maintain stock of liners, soap, and other laundry supplies.
5. Work Ticket (WT) Support
· Review Work Tickets and prepare needed supplies/equipment.
· Assist Route Supervisor in coordinating maintenance or specialty work tickets (ceiling tiles, plumbing concerns, light bulb replacement, etc.).
· Coordinate with outside vendors when services relate to active work tickets.
· Identify billable work outside of job scope and report to ServiceTeam@summitbs.com.
· Ensure work outside job scope is not completed without prior authorization.
· Include photos when reporting additional service opportunities.
6. Vendor & Delivery Support
· Receive and verify deliveries; document discrepancies.
· Maintain positive vendor relationships and troubleshoot vendor issues when needed.
· Package, document, and ship returns; confirm vendor receipts.
7. Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance
· Test and document generator performance monthly.
· Perform basic vehicle maintenance for UT vehicles; log inspections and coordinate professional service as needed.
8. Key & Access Management
· Produce key tags and maintain the Master Key Log.
· Ensure proper controls for distribution and tracking of keys and tools.
9. Client Relations & Retention
· Support Route Supervisor in maintaining open, professional client relationships.
· Relay client notes, complaints, compliments, and special requests first to Route Supervisor and then to ServiceTeam@summitbs.com as needed.
· Participate in new job starts and scope changes to understand building hot points and expectations.
· Ensure buildings are inspection-ready at all times.
· Respond to client communications in a timely manner when authorized.
10. Team Professionalism & Accountability
· Ensure janitors respond accurately to direct instructions and work tickets.
· Enforce punctuality and confirm janitors are at assigned job sites.
· Ensure all janitors wear proper Company uniforms.
· Reinforce Company values through professional conduct and communication.
· Assist with janitorial duties as needed, including detailing.
11. Communication & Reporting
· Learn and submit daily operational reports through Salesforce, including work ticket updates, building status, service quality observations, and staffing issues.
· Communicate service quality concerns first to Route Supervisor, then escalate as needed.
· Maintain open communication with Operations Management.
· Address and escalate emergency situations appropriately.
· Assist with investigation and corrective action related to client complaints
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds routinely (light‑duty friendly).
· Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
· Ability to travel between job sites as needed.
· Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and tools.
Skills & Qualifications
· Previous warehouse, janitorial, or inventory experience preferred.
· Strong organization and time-management skills.
· Basic mechanical aptitude for small equipment repairs.
· Ability to operate inventory software (Sortly or similar).
· Strong communication and documentation skills.
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
Work Schedule
· Full-time, Monday through Friday.
· Occasional weekends or evenings during peak operational needs.
· Employees are required to accurately record all hours worked and are provided legally compliant meal and rest periods in accordance with California law.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
