As a full-time Septic Field Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading the septic department by managing and optimizing service, repair, and sales operations. Ensure all septic projects meet regulatory, safety, and company standards while maintaining high customer satisfaction and achieving departmental KPIs. Responsible for training, compliance, and coordination with permitting authorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the septic department, overseeing service, repair, installation, and inspection operations.
- Ensure all septic work is performed to code, safety, and company standards.
- Coordinate permitting, inspection scheduling, and compliance documentation with local and state agencies.
- Conduct weekly meetings to communicate department goals, training, and safety updates.
- Monitor and maintain departmental KPIs, including closing rates, customer satisfaction, and gross margins.
- Train and mentor technicians on septic diagnostics, repair, installation, and safety procedures.
- Ensure all field employees obtain IOWPA Installer and Inspector certification within six months of hire.
- Oversee customer relations, promptly resolving issues to maintain high satisfaction.
- Perform on-site inspections for quality assurance and compliance verification.
- Review and approve daily job photos and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Process and track warranty work, coordinating necessary return visits.
- Manage inventory, equipment, and materials to ensure availability and cost efficiency.
- Supervise truck stock, tool maintenance, and daily replenishment routines.
- Maintain an organized yard and shop area, ensuring safe storage of equipment and waste materials.
- Ensure all excavation and dig operations are completed safely and in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with management to identify and implement process improvements.
- Hold employees accountable for punctuality, professionalism, and adherence to company policies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding waste disposal and site restoration.
- Lead safety meetings and uphold the companys safety program, completing accident reports as necessary.
- Promote a positive team environment by supporting open communication and discouraging gossip.
- Maintain all department vehicles and heavy equipment, scheduling regular maintenance and inspections.
- Provide coverage for other supervisors or managers as needed during absences or company trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience in septic system service, repair, installation, or related field leadership.
- Strong knowledge of local and state septic regulations and permitting processes.
- Ability to train and mentor field technicians in technical and safety procedures.
