Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, developing internal control policies and procedures, and supporting strategic financial planning. This position plays a key role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Support budget and forecasting activities.
- Work closely with the CFO to analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Supervise and develop accounting staff, including training and performance management.
- Coordinate external audits and work with external auditors as needed.
- Assist with M&A activities, if applicable, including financial due diligence and integration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
- Proven working experience as a Controller or senior-level accounting manager.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP or IFRS as applicable).
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Strong understanding of accounting software and database management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
