Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required:
- High school level course work in English grammar, composition, and basic mathematics.
- Experience with medical supplies and usage, medical terminology, and inventory control systems to include experience utilizing a PC to enter and access information preferred.
- Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with patient care team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods, and/or reduce costs.
- Ability to understand and carry out the vision of patient care at Summa; to create a patient care environment which focuses on the needs and expectations of the patient, our customer.
- Ability to be self directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure and to take initiative to contribute beyond the scope of formal duties (e.g. suggesting innovative ideas and providing feedback on a team’s direction).
- Ability to give close attention to details for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to become proficient in practices and procedures of the hospital and certain medical terminology.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to use a PC, related software, and calculator.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to successfully pass typing test to meet light typing requirement within three (3) months of employment.
- Ability to perform alphanumeric filing
- Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
- Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
- Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects
