What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Childbirth Instructor - PD position at Summa Health?
Conducts childbirth education and other health related classes under supervision. Utilizes clinical nursing expertise; follows principles of adult education. Actively participates in curriculum and development and revision.
Minimum Education:
a. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but are required to obtain BSN within three (3) years of employment
c. Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio
d. Certification preferred- or required to obtain within 2-3yrs.
Minimum Work Experience:
Two (2) years' related clinical experience in a maternity setting
Required Skills Knowledge:
a. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
b. Ability to effectively interact with population of patients/clients with an understanding of their nees for self-respect and dignity.
c. Ability to deliver effective presentations to community groups including adults and children
d. Ability to demonstrate a variety of exercises.
e. Ability to work well in a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback: by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with other team members to solve problems, create new solutions and/or reduce costs.
f. Maintains current Basic Life Support Certification.
g. Ability to have basic computer and audio-visual skills.
