Duties
- Supervise and engage dogs during playtime, ensuring safe interactions and positive socialization experiences
- Monitor dog behavior closely, utilizing animal handling and restraint techniques to prevent conflicts or injuries
- Assist with pet grooming, feeding, administering medication, and cleaning kennels or play areas to maintain hygiene standards
- Perform outdoor activities such as walks or supervised outdoor play sessions, utilizing outdoor work experience skills
- Support pet sitting duties by providing attentive care for dogs when owners are away or during special events
- Maintain detailed records of each dog’s behavior, health status, and daily activities for team communication
- Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable
- Experience in pet grooming, pet sitting, or as a veterinary assistant demonstrates a strong animal care background
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and kennel experience is a plus
- Proven ability in animal handling, animal restraint, and pet care ensures safe interactions with dogs of all temperaments
- Comfortable performing cleaning tasks and maintaining a hygienic environment through thorough sanitation practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting safely when managing supplies or equipment
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Outdoor work experience enhances your ability to supervise outdoor activities confidently
