Sugar and Grace Custom Bakery is hiring a dependable, highly detail-oriented Bakery Assistant to support the primary baker with daily preparation, organization, sanitation, inventory, and bakery upkeep.
This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working in a clean, organized environment and understands that cleanliness is an ongoing responsibility throughout every shift — not something that is only handled when asked.
Candidates MUST have impeccable measuring skills and be able to follow recipes, instructions, and procedures with precision. Accuracy matters greatly in baking, and we are looking for someone who understands the importance of exact measurements, consistency, and following directions carefully every time.
A major part of this role is CLEANING AND SANITATION. The right candidate should naturally notice what needs to be wiped, washed, sanitized, vacuumed, organized, or reset without waiting to be told. You will be supporting the primary baker by helping keep the bakery sanitized, organized, fresh, and fully prepared for the next production day.
We are looking for someone who takes sanitation, hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness extremely seriously — beyond the average standard. This includes personal hygiene. Because you will be working around food, exceptional personal cleanliness is an absolute requirement. Employees are expected to report to every shift with their body, hair, clothing, and overall appearance exceptionally clean and hygienic. Cleanliness must be maintained at the highest level throughout every shift.
Responsibilities Include:
- Accurately measuring and preparing dry ingredients
- Following recipes and preparation instructions precisely
- Inventory control and inventory management
- Washing dishes and bakery tools
- Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces throughout the day
- Cleaning mixers, equipment, shelving, storage areas, containers, and bakery workspaces
- Keeping ingredients and supplies neatly organized
- Vacuuming, wiping, sanitizing, and resetting the bakery daily
- Maintaining a consistently clean and sanitary workspace during production — not just at the end of the shift
- Assisting the primary baker with preparation and other bakery support duties as needed
- Helping ensure the bakery is completely reset, sanitized, organized, and ready for the next production day

Schedule & Pay
Candidates must have availability for a combination of mornings, evenings, and weekends.
The schedule will generally be prepared one month at a time, but weekly hours and shift times will fluctuate according to bakery orders, production needs, holidays, events, and workload. Applicants must be comfortable with a schedule that varies rather than expecting the exact same hours every week.
Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour
There is room for pay growth once the employee has proven their reliability, skill, consistency, initiative, and growth in the position.

This position is best suited for someone who takes tremendous pride in precision, cleanliness, organization, and being an excellent support person. We are looking for someone who doesn't simply complete a cleaning checklist, but naturally works in a way that keeps the bakery clean as they go and leaves the space fresh, sanitized, organized, and ready for the next day.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 25.0 per week
