Household Helper & Food Prep Assistant

Compensation: $15–$20 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: 15–20 hours per week. Every other week will be a four-day work week. Work schedules will be provided at least two weeks in advance.

We are seeking a dependable, highly organized, and proactive Food Prep Assistant & Household Helper to become an important part of our home. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating order, preparing healthy meals, and keeping a busy household running smoothly through consistent daily maintenance and organization.

Our home is also a working environment, with both a home office and homeschooling taking place throughout the day. It is important that you are able to work efficiently, quietly, and respectfully while helping maintain a calm, organized atmosphere.

This is not a deep-cleaning position. Instead, we are looking for someone who excels at daily upkeep, resetting the home, and supporting the day-to-day flow of family life.

Responsibilities

Prepare healthy meals, snacks, and food for the week according to provided recipes and meal plans.

Wash, chop, portion, and organize ingredients for easy meal preparation.

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the day, including dishes, wiping counters, and keeping food storage areas orderly.

Complete daily laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and putting clothing and linens away.

Vacuum and damp mop floors as part of routine daily maintenance.

Tidy and reset every room of the home so spaces are clean, organized, and ready for the next activity.

Pack and unpack bags for daily activities, outings, and appointments.

Refill toiletries, paper products, and other household essentials as needed.

Restock and organize commonly used household supplies.

Refresh bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces through daily maintenance and attention to detail.

Maintain organized systems throughout the home and return items to their proper places.

Assist with grocery organization and putting groceries away.

Help with occasional errands or household tasks as needed.

Anticipate household needs and proactively assist in keeping the home running efficiently.

The ideal candidate naturally notices what needs attention and enjoys leaving every space feeling refreshed, organized, and fully reset. Rather than waiting for direction on every task, you are able to recognize priorities, work independently, and contribute to the smooth operation of a busy household.

We follow a largely chemical-free cleaning philosophy. Experience using natural or low-toxicity cleaning products is appreciated, although we are happy to provide training. We supply all cleaning products and equipment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in housekeeping, household assistance, food preparation, or a similar role.

Enjoys cooking and preparing healthy meals.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while following household routines and preferences.

Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple daily tasks.

Professional, dependable, trustworthy, and discreet.

Fluent English with strong communication skills.

Reliable transportation and excellent references.
