We are seeking a full-time, licensed, and experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support a portfolio of clients by managing their employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance, and delivering a high level of service throughout the policy lifecycle.
We are seeking a full-time, licensed, and experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support a portfolio of clients by managing their employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance, and delivering a high level of service throughout the policy lifecycle.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in group benefits, and enjoys building strong client relationships while managing multiple accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare renewal and marketing reports comparing employee benefits plans, coverage options, and costs
- Assist with annual open enrollment meetings and client presentations
- Draft and distribute client communications, including correspondence and compliance notices
- Calculate employee contributions and develop contribution strategies aligned with client budgets
- Collect and organize new client information and onboarding documentation
- Assist with group applications, policy changes, and terminations
- Support client employees with benefit questions and claims resolution
- Oversee enrollments, terminations, and COBRA/Cal COBRA notifications
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, ACA, and applicable state/federal laws
- Collaborate with internal teams and perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Active California Life/Health license (required or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in small and/or large group benefits account management
- Strong knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong time-management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus
Compensation:
- $60,000 – $85,000 annually (negotiable based on experience)
- Bonus and commission opportunities
