Position: District Volunteer Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director of Student Services
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: To maintain and ensure growth of District Volunteer Program while also assisting the Student Programs department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assists in identifying areas in which volunteers may be used effectively.
- Assist in recruiting and screening volunteers.
- Reviews and recommends changes in volunteer programs on an on-going basis.
- Acts as liaison between staff and volunteers to ensure a smooth working relationship.
- Maintains a system to record volunteer hours for District and State reporting.
- Attends all PTO meetings. Attends PTA(G) meetings when appropriate.
- Monitor Paraprofessional credentialing and coordinate required Paraprofessional training.
- Review budgets and other financial issues with District Grant Assistance Manager in Student Programs department.
- Assist in the renewal of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the district and outside agencies.
- Collect, organize, and maintain reports for Executive Director of Student Services.
- Assist Student Services with enrollment and transfer tasks.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract
