We are located in Green Bay on 2.8 acres with 35,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and office space. We are dedicated to delivering steel that fits every time, even on the most challenging projects.
We are continuing our growth through the expansion of relationships with key customers and adding new equipment and technology. To support our growth, we are expanding our engineering department and looking for a dedicated Detailer to join our team of in-house detailers. Role: As a Structural Steel Detailer, you will be responsible for translating customer design drawings into accurate shop drawings and erection schematics. You will utilize AutoCAD and Tekla software to ensure our shop has realistic drawings and that our delivery schedules are coordinated closely with job site requirements.
Responsibilities
- Detailed Drafting: Generate detailed shop drawings for steel beams, columns, and miscellaneous components using Autodesk/AutoCAD and Tekla Structures.
- Erection Schematics: Create clear, accurate erection drawings to guide field crews and ensure constructability.
- Material Coordination: Produce accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and cutting lists to assist in cost control and production.
- Quality Control: Review drawings to ensure error-free products, checking for interferences and compliance with specifications.
- Collaboration: Work with the shop floor and project managers to resolve design problems promptly and maintain production schedules.
Qualifications & Software Skills
- Required Software: Proficiency in Autodesk / AutoCAD is required. You must be able to produce accurate 2D drawings efficiently.
- Preferred Software: Experience with Tekla Structures (3D) is strongly preferred.
- Note: While Tekla experience is a major plus, we are open to training the right candidate who has strong AutoCAD skills and structural steel knowledge.
- Industry Experience: Experience in structural steel detailing or a related construction field is preferred.
- Blueprint Reading: Must have expert ability to interpret architectural and structural contract drawings.
