What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commissioning Technician position at Struction Solutions?
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the commissioning process on various in-house small to medium-sized projects.
- Perform commissioning design reviews, submittal reviews, and closeout document reviews.
- Create pre-functional and functional checklists, as well as commissioning plans.
- Conduct commissioning meetings and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects.
- Perform field observations and functional testing.
- Document and track test results using issue resolution logs.
- Prepare commissioning deliverables, including final commissioning reports.
- Assist in the review and development of staff training and continuing education opportunities.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Project Manager of Commissioning.
- Eight (8) years of full-time, paid professional experience in commissioning.
- Strong working knowledge of building codes, CHPS, and commissioning requirements.
- ANSI commissioning certification (CxA, CxT, BCxP, or Certified Commissioning Professional).
- Extensive knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering, architecture, or construction management.
- Experience in design or construction management with a focus on mechanical systems.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification or a valid California Professional Engineering License.
- Industry-recognized energy management certification.
