Construction Estimator
Straw Construction Co., Inc. a Western PA Union Signatory Site Contractor is looking to hire a dependable full-time Estimator to join our expanding company. The schedule for this position is generally Monday thru Friday. Some flexibility is required to travel for pre-bid site visits as needed.
Summary of work:
- Complete accurate and concise estimates of required labor, equipment, and materials needed to complete project.
- Used computer-based software (In-Site) to obtain take off quantities, field measurements and cross sections.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to understand the complexity of the bid proposal.
- Obtain material and subcontractor pricing for the proposed bid through competitive quotes and negotiated terms.
- Prepare written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in estimating site civil construction.
- Ability to prioritize estimating tasks and workflow to meet estimate reviews schedules and bid dates.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- DOT experience would be a plus.
