Senior Mechanical Engineer – Power Electronics

A well-funded technology startup is developing next-generation power electronics hardware and is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help design and build advanced converter systems used in high-power applications.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role where you’ll own mechanical designs from early concept through to production, working on complex electromechanical systems and power conversion products in a fast-paced R&D environment.
The team is looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult engineering challenges, working from first principles, and being deeply involved in the full product development lifecycle from concept and prototyping through to testing and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mass-manufacturable mechanical parts and assemblies for power electronics systems
- Own designs through the full product lifecycle concept, prototyping, testing, validation, and production
- Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis to optimize designs
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Work closely with electrical, manufacturing, test, and reliability engineering teams
- Support hands-on prototyping, development, and validation testing
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to improve performance, cost, and manufacturability
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 8 years of industry experience in a fast paced and/or start up environment
- Experience of applying engineering fundamentals / first principles in a commercial environment
Salary : $140,000 - $180,000
