My client has revolutionized the energy storage sector with their zero-emission technology. They remove the need for fossil fuels to power industrial application by storing energy as heat.
They’re well-backed by some of the most notable VC firms within clean technology. For their next phase of growth, they are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer. The opportunity is to lead on prototype and scale-up initiatives for their energy storage application.
In this role, you’d take ownership of subsystem design from a clean sheet, working side by side with the founders. It’s a chance to apply first-principles thinking to novel engineering challenges and collaborate with leaders.
What you will do as a mechanical engineer:
- Design and develop energy storage components to withstand extremely high temperatures
- Generate novel concepts and apply first principles
- Thermal or structural analysis to situational modelling (high pressure conditions etc)
- Be innovative with material selection to develop a product that is novel
- Prototype – your work will become a reality
What you need to apply to the mechanical engineer opportunity:
- 7 years Mechanical Design experience in a fast paced environment
- Experience with materials within high temperature or extreme environments desirable
- Therefore, it’s likely you will have worked within the energy storage, space or related industries
- Ability to be resourceful and hands-on with prototype initiatives
After several years of successful proving their technology, establishing a solid customer base and now having the funding to progress they are in an exciting growth phase.
Salary : $140,000 - $175,000
