A high-growth aerospace technology company is developing a next-generation high-altitude, lighter-than-air platform operating in the stratosphere. Designed to support communications, remote sensing, and imaging missions, this platform enables rapid deployment and persistent operations at altitude, serving commercial, scientific, and government customers.
The team is now looking for a Flight Test Engineer to support integrated ground and flight testing as the program continues to scale.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for planning and executing flight and ground test activities for a complex aerospace vehicle, working closely with systems, vehicle, and flight operations teams to ensure safe, repeatable, and data-driven testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and support ground and flight tests across stability & control, flight performance, propulsion, avionics, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Define test points, instrumentation, and operational requirements
- Develop test plans, procedures, and test cards, including limitations and hazard analyses
- Establish and evaluate pass/fail criteria during and post-test
- Analyze test data and produce post-test reports and summaries
- Support and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Safety Review Boards (SRBs)
- Brief and debrief flight operations and test teams
- Support the design of test fixtures, rigs, or subscale test assets
- Lead small test teams during execution
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in aerospace ground and/or flight testing
- Demonstrated experience executing integrated vehicle test programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with flight test safety and review processes
- Experience with data analysis or test automation tools is a plus
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on test environment
- Test Pilot School background preferred but not required
