Job Title: Supervisor – Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)

Full Time Employment

Location: Tampa, FL

Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 per year

Seeking an experienced Supervisor – Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) to support construction, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams within a power generation environment. This role is responsible for coordinating electrical and controls project activities, supporting contractor management, ensuring quality and safety compliance, monitoring project schedules, and overseeing commissioning and startup activities.

The successful candidate will provide field leadership, maintain a zero-accident philosophy, support project execution, and ensure all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and established work rules.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of work performed and identify critical items that may impact project schedules.
• Review project designs and identify potential changes.
• Review and approve contractor change notices.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure work is completed safely and cost-effectively.
• Assist in preparation of field installation subcontract packages.
• Monitor assigned projects for work rule compliance.
• Review contractor progress and critical path activities through scheduled meetings.
• Assist with planning, establishing, and monitoring project schedules.
• Track actual performance and productivity against project estimates.
• Support Engineering and Project Management teams during bid, evaluation, and contract award activities.
• Assign duties and responsibilities to contractors and monitor project progress.
• Inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop detailed commissioning and startup schedules with station personnel.
• Maintain QA/QC oversight to minimize rework and support outage and non-outage objectives.
• Coordinate electrical and controls project scope and execution.
• Monitor contractor compliance with environmental requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Construction management training.
• 10–15 years of experience in heavy industrial construction or construction management.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience in electrical and controls commissioning and startup within a combined-cycle power plant environment.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and construction standards.
• Experience writing contract scopes of work.
• Experience preparing budget estimates.
• Experience working with contract administrators.
• Experience planning and organizing electrical and controls projects.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Experience with outage coordination, planning, scheduling, cost controls, and quality control.
• Technical expertise in electrical and controls systems, including commissioning and startup activities.
• Experience supervising contractors and managing contract administration responsibilities.
• Experience using computerized work management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree.

Work Environment

• Work within an operating power generation facility.
• Travel between power stations as required.
• Occasional overnight and extended assignments.
• Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Exposure to elevated noise environments requiring hearing protection.
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Occasional on-call responsibilities.
• Overtime and weekend work as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to navigate industrial power plant environments.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders across multiple levels.
• Ability to respond to contractor emergencies in the field.
• Ability to walk, bend, climb, and perform field inspections throughout the workday.
• Ability to work both in office and field environments
