What you will do
- Support structured planning efforts, including problem framing, mission analysis, and course of action development.
- Build and refine planning products such as slide decks, read-aheads, action memos, meeting notes, and staff packages.
- Track tasks and actions, keep stakeholders aligned, and follow items through to completion.
- Support WMD/CWMD-related working groups and planning sessions, capturing decisions and next steps.
- Assist with coordination across partner organizations when needed.
- Support document and records tasks tied to planning products, including FOIA/MDR coordination support when required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required (must be current and able to be verified).
- The position shall be staffed by an individual who is:
- a graduate of the Joint Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Planning Course (JCPC), CWMD Senior Staff Planners course, or equivalent program;
- has at least 5 years of WMD-related planning experience; and
- has a minimum of 3 years of experience at the Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to turn rough inputs into clear, decision-ready products.
- Strong organization skills, including task tracking and working multiple priorities at once.
- Comfort working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in Special Operations activities and Counterterrorism (CT) is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to WMD, CWMD, WMD-T, CBRN, counterproliferation, deterrence planning, or crisis planning.
- Familiarity with joint planning concepts and planning products (JP 5-0/JOPP familiarity is a plus).
- Experience supporting coordination across Joint Staff, OSD, other Combatant Commands, and interagency partners.
