What you’ll do
- Build and synchronize communication strategies that support operational planning
- Develop themes, narratives, key messages, and target audiences tied to plans and priorities
- Support Key Leader Engagement (KLE) planning, including policies, tracking, and read-outs
- Help manage KLE tools and datasets (content, talking points, meeting outcomes, messaging history)
- Track senior U.S. Government themes and messages to keep plans aligned with broader strategic messaging
- Improve coordination and unity of effort across headquarters elements, subordinate commands, Joint Staff, and interagency partners
- Integrate communication planning and assessment across Public Affairs (PA), Information Operations (IO), and KLE
- Draft, update, and maintain the Commander’s Communication Strategy (Annex Y) for plans and orders
- Produce senior-leader-ready briefs, decision support products, and written recommendations
- 5 years of planning experience in one or more of the following: Public Affairs, Information Operations, Key Leader Engagement, or Civil Affairs
- Strong writing and briefing skills with the ability to work short suspense taskers
- Comfort working in a joint environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- JPME I
- Corporate marketing or strategic communications experience (especially if you can translate it into operational messaging discipline)
