Tax Accountant – Hybrid Role (near La Salle, MI)

A well-established CPA firm founded in the 1930s is looking for a Tax and Accounting Professional to join their team.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position offering a hybrid work model, requiring 3x per week in-office (south of Detroit).

They’re seeking someone with a strong accounting/ bookkeeping foundation, eager to contribute to both tax preparation and general accounting functions.

What you'll do:

• Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Assist with financial statements, bookkeeping, and journal entries.
• Utilize various accounting software.
• Occasionally jump in to handle bank reconciliations and other financial tasks as needed.

Who they're looking for:

• Experienced in general accounting: You're comfortable with financial statements,
• Bookkeeping, and managing finances.
• Tax experience is a plus but not required: If you have prior tax preparation experience (individual or corporate), that's a big bonus!
• CPA firm experience is a plus but not required: We're open to candidates with diverse backgrounds.
• Leadership/management experience is a plus but not required: If you've led a team in the past, we want to hear about it!
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A CPA or CMA certification is a definite plus, but not a requirement.

Compensation notes:

Multiple Openings and depending on experience

Senior Tax Accountant up to $130-140K

General Accountant/Bookkeeper up to $70-80K

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
