A high-growth, multi-state home services organization is seeking a strategic Controller who goes well beyond traditional accounting. This role is a deliberate stepping stone to CFO for a candidate who can integrate into the CFO’s workflow as a trusted thought partner, drive corporate forecasting, and position themselves for rapid advancement as the business scales past $70M
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Finance & Analytics
- Serve as the financial thought partner to the CFO, translating data into actionable insights.
- Build models and conduct trend analysis to identify risks and growth opportunities.
- Bring a forward-looking perspective to business performance monitoring.
Accounting Operations & Controls
- Own the full month-end close process and maintain general ledger integrity.
- Manage all lease accounting functions, including a large fleet of vehicles (depreciation, compliance, classifications).
- Scale accounting operations, controls, and policies alongside company growth.
Team & Systems Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of accounting and finance professionals.
- Partner on a brand-new NetSuite implementation to modernize workflows and automated reporting.
Required
- 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with 3 years as a Controller or senior accounting leader; CPA strongly preferred.
- Experience with lease accounting and/or fleet asset management.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and trend analysis skills.
- Experience in the in-home services industry or an equivalent operational environment.
- High-velocity growth experience and a clear trajectory toward a CFO role.
Preferred
- NetSuite proficiency (ERP implementation experience is a major plus).
- Proven success managing and scaling a small finance team.
Salary : $145,000 - $165,000
