Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable ACH Operations Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing, monitoring, and reconciling ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions in compliance with NACHA rules and internal bank policies. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely execution of electronic payments and supporting operational efficiency across treasury and payment operations.
Key Responsibilities & Preferred Experience
- Process inbound and outbound ACH files including Direct Deposits, Vendor Payments, and Consumer Debits.
- Monitor ACH returns, NOCs (Notifications of Change), and exceptions; ensure timely resolution and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments, financial institutions, and payment networks to investigate and resolve ACH-related issues.
- Perform daily balancing and reconciliation of ACH transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support the implementation of ACH operational enhancements, including system upgrades or workflow improvements.
- Ensure compliance with NACHA Operating Rules, OFAC guidelines, and Bank policies.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, audits, and operational metrics as needed.
- Respond to inquiries from clients or internal stakeholders regarding ACH transactions and payment processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2 years of experience in ACH Operations or broader Treasury/Banking Operations preferred.
- Familiarity with NACHA rules, ACH processing platforms, and electronic payment systems (e.g., FedACH, Payment Hubs).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and banking operations software.
- Knowledge of wire transfers, checks, and other electronic payment methods is a plus.
