Stratacent is seeking a L3 Database Administrator, you will be a core member of a cross-functional, integration team responsible for developing and executing on a vision for the Platform.
Job Title: L3 Database Administrator (DB2, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server)
Role Summary:
The L3 Database Administrator will be responsible for advanced administration, optimization, troubleshooting, and support of enterprise-grade database environments across DB2, Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Server platforms. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and experience handling complex production issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide L3-level support for DB2, Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Server databases across production, UAT, and development environments.
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions (SQL tuning, indexing, query optimization).
• Handle high-priority incidents, RCA, and problem management for critical database issues.
• Ensure high availability, backup/restore strategy, and DR readiness.
• Implement and maintain database security policies, user access, and auditing.
• Perform capacity planning, storage management, and growth forecasting.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors on complex issues.
• Support schema design reviews and provide database-related recommendations.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles for L1/L2 teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 6-10 years of experience as a DBA with hands-on L3-level support.
• Strong expertise in at least two of the following databases:
- IBM DB2
- Oracle Database
- Sybase ASE/IQ
- Microsoft SQL Server
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, scripting (Shell, Python, or Perl).
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with backup tools (RMAN, TSM, NetBackup, etc.).
• Knowledge of clustering, replication, and HA/DR solutions.
• Understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management).
• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud).
• Knowledge of automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, Jenkins, etc.).
• Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps CI/CD concepts.
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and stakeholder-handling ability.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24x7 support environment (on-call rotation may apply).
