What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper - Weekend Package position at STORY COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER?

As a Housekeeper you will:
- Clean and disinfect patient care areas as assigned to meet the needs of the organization, including public restrooms, administrative areas, kitchen, cafeteria, meeting rooms, etc.
- Follow outlined guidelines on the use and storage of all cleaning solutions and other hazardous chemicals to ensure proper safety precautions are being followed.
- Collect, sort, wash, dry and fold linens. Collect dirty linens and distribute clean linens to designated areas of Story Medical.
- Appropriately handle clean linen to ensure compliance with state and federal standards, and Story Medical policies
- Clean windows, furniture, air diffusers and grilles, doors and entrances.
- Remove general and potentially infectious medical waste and transport it to a general holding and/or disposal area.
- Maintain effective communication with Facilities department staff and all other Story Medical departments.
- Participate in huddles and staff meetings and attend other meetings and events as they relate to the Facilities Department functions.
- Assist in the distribution of linens.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to maintain a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors.

- Related work in healthcare.

Salary Range: $15.00 - $22.50 per hour (competitive and commensurate with experience)
