Experience Qualifications
- General Knowledge of cooking and safe food handling with one year of cooking/baking/food prep experience. Preferred
- Courses in institutional cooking and food safety certification. Preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. (Required proficiency)
- Act cooperatively with all other employees and perform related or other duties as directed. (Required proficiency)
- Must be dependable, possess good personal hygiene habits, and be neat and professional in appearance. (Required proficiency)
- Cooks foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.
- Meet requirements of quantity, quality and time requirements relating to meal schedules.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
- Keep accurate temperature records.
- Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health
