Job Summary: An innovative technology and manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to lead research and development efforts focused on new product commercialization and advanced process development. This role will support the design, optimization, and scale-up of chemical processes and equipment while driving the development of emerging technologies from concept through commercial implementation.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in chemical process development, industrial R&D, and translating technical innovations into market-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead research and development projects focused on new product and process commercialization.
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes involving mixing, mass transfer, heat transfer, process control, and scale-up.
- Evaluate and improve batch, semi-continuous, and continuous manufacturing processes.
- Develop and execute experimental plans, technical investigations, and validation protocols.
- Support the design and development of processing equipment from laboratory to production scale.
- Apply advanced chemical engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges.
- Conduct process optimization studies and analyze performance data to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Prepare technical reports, research documentation, grant proposals, and customer presentations.
- Present project findings to internal teams, customers, investors, government agencies, and research partners.
- Manage projects from concept through implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical engineering, product development, process development, or industrial R&D.
- Experience in industries such as pharmaceuticals, batteries/energy storage, advanced materials, specialty chemicals, energetics, or related manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of mixing technologies, reaction engineering, mass transfer, heat transfer, and process scale-up.
- Experience designing and developing chemical processing equipment and manufacturing systems.
