We are seeking a hospitality-driven Bar Manager to lead the Library Lounge and elevate every aspect of our beverage program. Position Summary
The Bar Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the Library Lounge. This individual will oversee daily operations, lead and develop the bar team, manage inventory and beverage costs, maintain service standards, and continually enhance the guest experience. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, upscale environment and leads by example behind the bar.
Responsibilities
- Lead all daily operations of the Library Lounge.
- Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop bartenders and bar support staff.
- Create and execute seasonal cocktail menus, wine features, and specialty beverage programs.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences through outstanding service and hospitality.
- Maintain accurate liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage inventories.
- Place beverage orders, manage vendor relationships, and negotiate purchasing when appropriate.
- Control beverage cost, labor cost, waste, and pour standards to maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar that reflects the standards of Stonehurst Manor.
- Collaborate with Corporate Chef and management team on special events, weddings, wine dinners, and seasonal promotions.
- Monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally and promptly.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of bar management or beverage leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, modern mixology, spirits, wine, and craft beer.
- Proven experience leading, developing, and motivating hospitality teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of beverage inventory systems, cost controls, and labor management.
- Ability to remain composed and lead effectively during busy service periods.
- TIPS Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience in upscale restaurants, hotels, resorts, or cocktail bars preferred.
