Event Custodian

Job Summary

The Events custodian is responsible for keeping our event spaces clean, sanitized, and guest ready. Cleaning visits are scheduled around the event calendar, so this role works independently, often outside standard business hours, and takes pride in thorough, detail-oriented work. Schedule varies week to week based on the event calendar. Evening, weekends, and holiday work is part of the role. This position has duties changing as needed depending on season, business needs, and other factors.

Essential Job Duties

• Sweep and mop all floors throughout the event spaces.
• Wipe down all tables and surfaces.
• Vacuum door mats.
• Clean and sanitize all bars and countertops.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize all restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Restock all restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other necessary items.
• Wash, dry, and fold event linens, rags and other applicable items as needed.
• Clean and organize event supplies as needed.
• Empty all trash and recycling bins and replace liners as needed.
• Clean trash cans as needed.
• Spot-clean reachable windows, including garage doors and entry doors.
• Regularly remove cobwebs from corners and other spaces.

Additional Duties

• Receives training and signs the company’s contract.
• Understands the company’s policy on work shifts, guests’ possessions and privacy issues.
• Communicates any breakages, needed repairs, and facilities concerns promptly to facilities team and manager.
• Performs quality check of all rooms and spaces in the Event Center
• Assists occasionally with minor guest requests and troubleshooting.
• Maintains a spirit of hospitality and professionalism during any guest interactions
• Maintains a positive relationship with other employees and guests
• Performs detailed deep cleans when required
• Assists with the set up and breakdown of events as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned including assisting in our tasting rooms, office spaces, and guest homes

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs for the majority of the shift
• Ability to stand, walk, and work on hard concrete surfaces for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to [50] pounds (supplies, trash bags, linens, furniture) and push or pull heavy carts and equipment
• Perform repetitive motions such as mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
• Work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, damp production areas, and outdoor spaces
• Work around cleaning chemicals and use appropriate protective equipment

Working Conditions

• Mostly solo work across multiple large campuses, with periodic check-ins with management
• Varied environments: indoor, outdoor, climate-controlled, and production floors
• Schedule may flex during harvest, peak tourism season, and event weekends

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
