What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Center Staff position at Albany Golf and Event Center?
Overview
We are seeking adaptable, customer service-oriented individuals that are comfortable in fast-paced and diverse event support roles to join our team . Candidates that possess strong interpersonal skills, time-management skills, an ability to multi-task, follow direction, and enjoy being part of a team are encouraged to apply. Duties may include but are not limited to banquet service, bartending, cash handling, event set-up/breakdown, decorating, and maintaining spaces of the Event Center indoors or outdoors.
Duties
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly and ensuring their needs are met throughout their experience at the Event center.
- Operate POS systems, process credit card payments, and cash handling.
- Assist with food and beverage service, including setting up and breaking down buffets and beverage station for banquets, celebrations, and other gatherings.
- Collaborate with caterers to ensure seamless execution of guests itineraries and meal plans .
- Washing and polishing flatware, utensils, chafers, and glassware.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas involved in events, including areas provided for guests as well as areas of facility used for preparation and storage.
- Ensure dining room, banquet, and event tables are set properly and the environment is welcoming for guests.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality setting, catering, or event setting is highly desirable; willing to train individuals with positive attitude and good work ethic.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and ability to multi-task .
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures; experience with cash registers, POS systems, and credit card transactions is ideal.
- Ability to push, lift, and pull 20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs is desirable. Accommodations can be discussed.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette is advantageous but not mandatory; willing to train the right candidates.
- Must be a team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Must possess or obtain food handler's card and OLCC prior to orientation. Bartending experience highly desirable.
