- Program, set up, and run CNC lathes using Mazatrol and G/M code; familiarity with Mazatrol T, T32, Smart, Smooth X, or CELOS preferred.
- Measure critical features using precision instruments, templates, and fixtures to verify conformance.
- Tweak offsets, tooling, and machine parameters to maintain micro‑tolerances using gauges and hand tools.
- Visually and dimensionally inspect parts; identify, sort, and document defects by type.
- Install and align tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using precision methods.
- Stop machines to unload parts, adjust setups, or change tools per the required sequence.
- Pull programs from servers to CNC controls via network connections.
- Own setups and production of moderate to very complex components using detailed setup instructions.
- Meet stringent engineering specifications; interpret and execute from detailed drawings.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for quality and efficiency.
- Author clear setup sheets, tool lists, and supporting documents for repeatability.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Management and machinists for smooth shift transitions and process alignment.
- Perform routine PM: lubrication, coolant, and filter maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years’ experience setting up and operating CNC lathes across multiple materials.
- Strong mathematics aptitude; can read and understand CNC programs.
- Excellent communication; comfortable working from verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Safety‑first mindset, collaborating with EHS to protect yourself and teammates.
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; stand for long periods; climb stairs as needed.
- PPE required: safety glasses, hearing protection, hand/foot protection, and role‑specific PPE.
- Regular contact with oils, coolants, and standard machine‑shop chemicals.
