Knowledge and experience
Drive precision manufacturing by programming, setting up, and operating a CNC Horizontal Milling Center or CNC Boring Mill. Your work ensures every metal component meets print, process, and safety standards while production data is captured accurately and equipment stays reliable.
What you’ll do
- Program, edit, and run CNC operations using Mazatrol, Celos, and G/M-code; conversational control experience is a plus.
- Review drawings and specs with GD&T to determine operation sequencing, tool paths, and target dimensions.
- Load programs from servers via network links and insert control instructions to begin machining.
- Set up fixturing, align workpieces, and secure tools and attachments using precision instruments and hand tools.
- Dial in offsets, adjust tooling and parameters to hit specification on first article and throughout the run.
- Start and monitor machines; verify coolant and lubrication; record operational metrics.
- Pause operations to remove completed parts, change tools, or re-stage workpieces per the required sequence.
- Inspect parts with precision gauges, templates, and fixtures; sort and document any nonconformances.
- Identify issues such as chatter, dull tools, or vibration and correct by adjusting feeds/speeds or replacing tools.
- Perform routine tool changes and contribute to machine and area upkeep.
