What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Buyer l (on-site) position at STL?
This is a on-site role for a local organization. 40hrs per week.
In this role, you will be integral to the procurement process, responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials to support production needs. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will utilize your core skills in negotiation and purchasing to secure favorable terms and maintain inventory levels.
Your expertise in ERP systems (NetSuite), will enhance your effectiveness in materials management. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain operations and ensure timely delivery of products. Job Responsibilities:
- Selects large scale manufacturing products and negotiates buying terms with vendors, including price, margin, exclusivity, and delivery terms.
- Attends buyer meetings.
- Oversees order placement and delivery.
- Writes product line and product knowledge sheets.
- Sets the open-to-buy plan to make inventory decisions.
- Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly selling reports to analyze performance and make improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knows how to use popular merchandise planning software.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Communicates effectively and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well independently and with a team.
- Builds strong relationships with colleagues and vendors.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in merchandising management, business, accounting, finance, or a related degree is preferred
- 2-4 years of previous experience as a manufacturing purchasing agent/ or buyer.
