Role Description
The Financial Specialist determines and implements management accounting procedures and methods. The employee demonstrates a certain degree of creativity and latitude performing a variety of tasks under general supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Examines and reviews unusual variances. Makes recommendations when applicable for process improvement.
- Support accounting functions by preparing financial data, and maintaining ledgers
- Prepares and analyzes various management reports in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Examines and reviews unusual variances. Makes recommendations when applicable for process improvement.
- Utilize production models to forecast and budget various data points (operational and financial).
- Prepare models for new business opportunities and ad hoc analysis.
Fully proficient, possess substantial understanding of the job and applies subject matter knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
Identifies problems and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sounds decisions.
Works under limited or moderate degree of supervision and generally receives minimal instruction on daily work, with general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting or Finance. MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5 years of work experience in a process driven environment preferred.
- Familiar with standard concepts including statistical analysis methods, practices and procedures of management accounting.
- Proficiency in financial report writing, data collection, and financial analysis
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, cash flow analysis, and budgeting
- skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
