About the Role
Stillpoint Talent Group is partnering with a boutique MEP consulting engineering firm to identify a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Philadelphia area. The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. This role is ideal for someone with current experience in mechanical design within an MEP or AEC consulting environment who enjoys working in a collaborative, client-focused setting with exposure to all phases of project delivery.

Responsibilities
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, ventilation, and central plant systems
- Prepare engineering calculations including load analysis, equipment sizing, and energy evaluations
- Develop construction documents including plans, specifications, and technical reports
- Coordinate with electrical, architectural, structural, and plumbing teams for integrated project delivery
- Support projects from schematic design through construction administration
- Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and participate in project coordination meetings
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, energy codes, and applicable regulations
- Utilize Revit and AutoCAD for design development and coordination
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Contribute to efficient, innovative, and constructible mechanical system solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Current experience in mechanical design within an MEP or AEC consulting environment
- EIT preferred
- Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for healthcare, commercial, retail, hospitality, industrial, or mixed-use projects preferred
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software
- Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards and applicable building codes
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
