Job Summary:
As the Controller, you will oversee all financial aspects of our dealership operations. You’ll be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, financial reporting, and team leadership. This role is ideal for a strategic, detail-oriented professional with strong automotive accounting experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AR/AP, GL, bank reconciliations, and monthly closings.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff across multiple rooftops.
- Produce timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and dealership best practices.
- Monitor and enforce internal controls, compliance, and DMS procedures.
- Work closely with department managers and ownership to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and lenders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and dealership policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- 5 years of experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant in an automotive dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of dealership operations, including sales, F&I, service, and parts.
- Experience with dealership management systems (Tekion and Dealertrack,)
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
