What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller position at StevenDouglas?
Our client is a $100M industrial equipment dealer located in Bolingbrook, IL. We are seeking a Corporate Controller to report to the CFO and grow to fulfill a succession plan to become the CFO in the near future.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and ensure accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to GAAP principles.
- Management: Manage processes and staff to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including reconciliations and financial analysis
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Own the annual budget process and periodic updates to budget to provide forecasts.
- Expense Analysis & Decision Support: Conduct regular analysis of expense variances, providing insights to management for cost control and decision-making as a member of the leadership team. This position will have a seat at the table.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA preferred. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, a combination of public accounting and related industry is ideal but not required
- Self-starter with strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in general ledger accounting operational cycles, including ownership of closing process.
