Our client, a 100-year-old established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking an ambitious accounting professional to partner with the CFO and CEO as they upgrade systems and processes to support significant growth.
The ideal candidate has substantial manufacturing accounting experience to manage the general ledger, cost accounting, job costing, inventory, and oversee day-to-day AP, AR, payroll, and monthly close activities. You'll contribute directly to pricing models, cost controls, ERP execution and optimization, and the company's profitability and readiness for the next growth stage.
What you'll be doing
- Own day-to-day general ledger activities including journal entries, month-end close, and accurate financial statements; directly supervise AP/AR and manage all core operations (cash, inventory, WIP, job costing, and payroll)
- Develop and refine cost accounting practices across manufacturing, service, parts, and equipment lines, ensuring accurate job costing, margin analysis, and inventory valuation
- Lead weekly AR/AP and cash flow reviews with the owner and CFO Advisor, providing visibility into collections, disbursements, and short-term cash needs while supporting pricing models and cost reduction initiatives
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; a CPA, CMA, and/or MBA is a plus
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing (senior accountant, accounting manager, or controller level), with strong expertise in general accounting, cost accounting, inventory, job costing, and month-end close
- Experience supervising and mentoring a team
- Experience and demonstrated interest in implementing AI and automated workflows is a plus
