Job Title: Pathologist Assistant (Contract – 1 Year)

Duration: 1-Year Contract
Schedule: Flexible hours between 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pathologist Assistant to join our Anatomic Pathology Department on a one-year contract. Under the supervision and direction of the Chief of Anatomic Pathology, Director of Operations, and Clinical Specialist Supervisor, the Pathologist Assistant will play an essential role in providing grossing, specimen preparation, and frozen section support while contributing to high-quality patient care and advancing the mission of our pathology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform description, dissection, gross examination, and sampling of surgical specimens.
- Assist in the preparation and cutting of frozen sections.
- Photograph specimens and document gross findings.
- Maintain protocols, procedures, reports, and specimen data in accordance with departmental standards.
- Support administrative duties including instrument maintenance, protocol preparation, and quality assurance.
- Participate in training, teaching, and research support activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements in anatomic pathology.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pathologist Assistant.
- Certification: PA(ASCP) certified or eligible for PA(ASCP) and able to pass within 12 months of hire.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a biological or health sciences field (e.g., biology, biomedical science).
- Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
