We’re looking for a Dental Assistant who takes pride in making patients feel comfortable and clinics run smoothly — and can also win at instrument Tetris in the sterilization room.
The Role: Dental Assistant (with Sterilization Superpowers)
You’ll play a dual role — supporting dental providers chairside and keeping sterilization protocols on point. From prepping operatories to calming nervous patients and making sure every tool is squeaky clean, you’ll be the glue that holds the clinic together.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures
- Set up and break down operatories, including sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Operate x-ray equipment to capture high-quality images (if certified)
- Prepare and organize materials and instruments for procedures
- Maintain sterilization logs, OSHA records, and complete daily/weekly maintenance
- Perform weekly spore testing and document results
- Clean and lubricate dental handpieces and ensure equipment is in top shape
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and keep materials well-stocked
- Provide patients with pre- and post-op care instructions
- Communicate with patients clearly and professionally — bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus!
- Jump in wherever needed to support smooth clinic operations
Qualifications
- Completion of a Certified Dental Assistant Program (Required)
- At least 1 year of experience in dental assisting and/or sterilization
- Dental Assistant Certificate (Preferred)
- Radiation Safety Certificate (Preferred)
- CPR or BLS certification (Required)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish? Even better!
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant Program
