Charge Nurse - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU RN)

Location: Great Falls, Montana
Our client, a leading hospital organization in Montana serving a large population and dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare, is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to join their perioperative team in Great Falls on a full-time basis. With excellent nurse-to-patient ratios, this facility promotes a culture of teamwork, safety, and advanced medical technology.
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient flow in the Pre-Operative and PACU areas for optimized daily operations.
Operational Hours: 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM Varied Shifts
Call Requirements: Shared Rotation (~4 weeknights/month 1 weekend every other month)
- Coordinate clinical care from admission to phase II recovery for surgical patients.
- Lead the shift, assign staff, adjust schedules as needed, and solve operational issues.
- Ensure staff compliance with patient safety standards and documentation per CPAN/ASPAN guidelines.
- Collaborate daily with the PACU Supervisor and build positive relationships with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the nursing and support team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an ADN (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Active RN license in Montana (or immediate eligibility).
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. CPAN or ASPAN certification preferred.
- Experience: 2 years in PACU nursing; Critical Care experience a plus.
- Skills: Knowledge of nursing principles, aseptic techniques, and CPAN guidelines.
